Born and raised in Central Alberta, Mike was brought up tinkering: learning, fixing, building, and repeating. His early education and experience were as a machinist and motorcycle mechanic. After earning a couple of NAIT diplomas, Mike spent the rest of his career working in multiple countries developing products, processes, and businesses.

He has designed well over 1,000 components, assemblies, machines, and products, including downhole tools, automated manufacturing machines, animal husbandry products, high-end performance motorcycle components, advanced water treatment systems, and various consumer products.

Mike’s expertise includes design, development, IP management, project management, corporate management, greenfield international corporate expansions, leading a multinational workforce, and serving on an executive board. He holds 4 patents and has 6 non-current patent applications under his name.

Mike lives in Beaumont with his wife and has 3 grown children. In his spare time, he enjoys everything motorized, especially motorcycles and motorcycle travel. He also enjoys travelling extensively with his wife of over 30 years, with a particular affinity for New Zealand, where he lived for 4 years.
