Born and raised in Central Alberta, Mike was brought up tinkering. Learning, fixing, building, repeat. His early education and experience were as a machinist and then a motorcycle mechanic. After a couple of NAIT diplomas, Mike spent the rest of his career in multiple different countries developing things – products, processes, and a few businesses. He has designed well over 1000 components, assemblies, machines, and products such as downhole tools, automated manufacturing machines, animal husbandry products, high end performance motorcycle components, advanced water treatment systems, and various consumer products. My expertise includes design, development, IP management, project management, corporate management, green field international corporate expansions, team leader of a multi-national work force and served on an executive board. Mike has 4 patents and 6 patent applications (non-current) under his name.

Mike lives in Beaumont with his wife. He has 3 grown children. In his spare time he enjoys everything motorized but specifically motorcycles and motorcycle travel. He also tries to travel extensively with his wife of over 30 years with a particular affinity to New Zealand, having lived there for 4 years.
